National Junior Honor Society
(NJHS)

The Southside Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society is comprised of students who have achieved academic excellence. These students have also demonstrated Character, Citizenship, Leadership, and Service through involvement with activities both inside and outside of school. Membership is an honor that is recognized throughout the nation.

The selection process begins during the third quarter of the school year.

Seventh and eighth grade students who meet the academic criteria (GPA of 3.5 for the last four consecutive quarters) will receive nomination papers. These will be submitted to the Faculty Committee. Deadlines are strict and failure to meet the required deadlines will be considered when determining selection. In addition, requested information must be completed fully and properly.

Once the Faculty Committee has completed a very careful review

of all nomination papers, selected students are invited to be inducted into the National Junior Honor Society.

The Southside Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society seeks to serve the Southside Community and continuously looks for opportunities to do so.
