8th Grade Dance and BBQ Information for Parents

Dear 8th Grade Parents,

The 8th Grade Celebration Events are fast approaching.

8th Grade Dance
Our 8th Grade Dance is Friday, June 8th at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $8.00 and will be on sale this week and next in the cafeteria. Students must show a school I.D. to purchase a ticket. No tickets will be sold at the door, and no one will be admitted into the dance without a ticket. Although some are referring to this as a Semi Formal Dance, it is just a dance for 8th graders.
As long as your student’s attire meets school dress code, it's acceptable. While some students love to dress up for the occasion, it is certainly not necessary. Also, it is not a “date” event. We want all 8th grade students to attend their special night. All students must attend school the
day of the dance in order to attend. We will need help decorating starting at 1:00 pm. We will also need chaperones for the dance, starting at 5:30.

8th Grade Barbecue
The 8th Grade Barbecue is Wednesday, June 13. We start setting up at drop off, 7:30-7:45. We will need grillmasters, food wrappers, runners, servers and clean up crew. We are generally done by 1:30.

If you have volunteered to provide items for the dance, please have them at school by Wednesday, June 6. They may be dropped off in the main office.

If you have volunteered to provide things for the barbecue, please have them at school by Monday, June 11. They may be dropped at the main office as well. We do have freezer and refrigerator space available. Perishable items can be dropped off the day of the barbecue, but we will need them by 7:30 am. If you would like to contribute, please contact Sue Berry at simplysue2@comcast.net to see what we need and to avoid duplications.

If you would like to help at any of the events, please email Michele Wood at mnotome@aol.com. Whether you can help for both events, one event or one hour, we are happy for the help.  Thank you!
